So, Warby Parker is pretty awesome. The story behind the company and the collections of eyewear is spectacular. Warby Parker sells online and has a limited number of showrooms in the United States. They design glasses in-house, which allows the company to lower the cost of its glasses by a significant amount. With their vintage-inspired prescription eyeglasses starting at $95, it’s easy to find a pair of shades that you love. My favorite part about Warby Parker is you can use their free “Home Try-On Program,” and not to mention there is fast, free shipping both ways!

Here are the nuts and bolts about the “home Try-On Program:” 1. Pick out five frames and ship them to your house for free 2. You will have these frames for five days. Ask your friends what they think, opinions always help! 3. Pick the winners and have them shipped back to your house.

I love Warby Parker. I love the glasses and I love the company motto. Just like TOMS, they also do a lot of philanthropic work for the greater good. For every pair of Warby Parker glasses purchased, the company pays for the production of a pair of eyeglasses for the non-profit organization VisionSpring. Then, VisionSpring sells either directly to consumers or companies. Vision Spring works to ensure that there is affordable access to eyewear, everywhere.  VisionSpring targets customers who earn between $1-$8 per day. VisionSpring deploys philanthropic capital to uncover economically viable business models that can scale through market forces. In 2013, their operations in Central America were on the cusp of achieving this important milestone. In July 2013, Warby Parker announced that it had distributed 500,000 pairs of eyeglasses to people in need. If that is not enough, they are 100 percent carbon neutral.

With all of this excitement, my love for them grows each day. I am honored to be apart of the announcement introducing Warby Parker’s collaboration with Karlie Kloss. Make sure to check out the MARPLE, Heirloom Gold with Violet Clover lenses those are by far my favorite. Pop those bad boys on and your look is totally complete.

Just like Karlie, the three new sunglasses are graceful, polished, and full of personality. We worked hand-in- hand to impart her genuine warmth and go-get-‘em energy to a trio of distinctly feminine classics: Julia, Marple, and Clara. Thunnamedey’re versatile and insanely flattering.

We started with a beautiful silhouette; the Julia frame is our translation of the tried-and-true teardrop. From there, we resized the lenses and fashioned contemporary wire accents for Clara and Marple. Constructed from ultra-strong and lightweight titanium in Heirloom Silver and Heirloom Gold, the frames feature gradient lenses, available in Violet Clover, Sepia Wash, Faded Slate, Copper Fade, and Indigo Wash. Relaxed and elegant.

In celebration of our partnership, we’re donating to an organization dear to Karlie. Edible Schoolyard NYC www.WarbyParker.com/Karlie-Klossprovides low-income public schools with kitchens and gardens, and students, through a hands-on curriculum led by Edible Schoolyard staff, learn the tools to develop lifelong healthy habits. The donation will benefit two community farm stands in Brooklyn and East Harlem, where kids learn about food preparation in their own neighborhoods. And as always, for every pair sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.

It’s that time of year again and Spring is finally in the air. Let’s greet the Kentucky Derby with welcome arms. Sure the Derby is about horse racing, but it’s really about fashion and tradition. The Kentucky Derby is a chance for every female to express her inner Southern Belle so take notes and never hold back when planning your Derby fashion pieces!1125-girls-next-door-derby-hats_bd

Wearing a hat to the Kentucky Derby is believed to bear good luck!  The long-established fashion was started by the women. But, over the last few years, many men have taken part in the tradition as well.  Wearing a hat is much like getting into costume, you might be pleasantly surprised to see what type of character you become. From the fantastic to the sublime, there are no rules or limits.  In the clubhouse and paddock, women of grace and taste sport classy, fashionable styles. In the infield, the headwear has tendancy to take on a zealous character.

With tradition comes a Mint Julep. The Mint Julep has been the traditional beverage of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby for nearly a century.
