Dear You,

As our relationship has progressed you have noticed one motif about my life: go big, or go home. You’re right, I don’t take things lightly and I don’t do them small. If I am going to do something, I commit. With all that being said, my birthday is never a different story. Every few years, the Super Bowl will try to overshadow my special day but I never allow it to do so.

This year, my birthday was wonderful because of you. Celebrating this 24th year is something I will ever forget. Being surrounded by loved ones, receiving phone calls and even the simple smiles truly made the day something special.

Over the years we’ve shared many stories, laughter, drinks and celebrations, but this one was different. This particular birthday celebration encompassed many wonderful aspects of my life. The celebrations this year allowed me to join in all of the tom foolery and showering of love that a birthday should have.

For you, I am grateful. Without you, my birthday would not have been the same. Thank you for the memories we made this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing what my 24th year has in store. I am lucky to have you along for the journey. Once again, thank you. I am so touched and thankful to be blessed by such awesome family and friends!

All My Love,

Kendal Ann

champagneIn the past two months, I’ve been asked the same looming question multiple times. This is a question that is very complex and hard to answer. Let me pose it to you, if you could have one drink for the rest of your life, what would you choose? Please note when this question is being asked it only is being limited to alcoholic beverages. My drinks of choice are between my beloved whiskey, wine and champagne. Between the three, I have no idea which I would choose, but I do know it would be one of them.

As my love for champs grows, I am slowly finding that my friends also have this undying love for the drink. It’s light, bubbly and perfect for any occasion and truly any day. Take a read below and see what Patrick has to say about this taste bud tickling beverage.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis week while strolling past the bar at my hotel I heard a magical sound. It was a cork popping free from a bottle of Moët & Chandon. Next to the sound of a golf ball settling into the cup, a champagne bottle popping is one of my favorite sounds. It can conjure up so many memories in an instant, whether it is of the past New Year’s Eve, a new job celebration, or the wedding of a close friend. Even the word can create that feeling of tiny bubbles tickling your nose. When speaking it the almost reflexive response is, “what’s the celebration?”

For most this libation is reserved for just that – special celebrations. I often wonder though, why? Why do we leave champagne out the majority of the year? I think it’s a drink that should be enjoyed at any time. Not only for the obvious reasons: it’s delicious, it’s no longer only for the rich and famous, and mimosas are amazing. I’m speaking of the less obvious – life deserves a celebration no matter what day it is. As the holidays approach many of us are reflecting on what we’re thankful for; this year more than ever I’ve recognized the value of enjoying life and celebrating it as often as possible.

So whether you just got that big promotion or you’ve had a Tuesday that deserves a toast, I say: bring out the champagne!

There is good in everyday, it’s up to you to find it and cheers it.
